We have an exciting opportunity for an Indirect Tax Consultant role in a Southampton-based Accounting company. The company is a prominent global indirect tax consultant and e-commerce accounting organisation with offices in the US, UK, China, and Australia. It is now seeking a highly motivated Mandarin-speaking Indirect Tax Consultant to join the team. The candidate must be self-motivated and proactive.

Job Requirements:
-Proficient in both Mandarin and English.
-Working knowledge in law, VAT, accounting, and finance.
-Client involvement and engagement require confidence and great communication skills (email, phone, and face-to-face (ad hoc).
-Works well both in a team and on their own.
-Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
-Organizational skills and the ability to operate under pressure and fulfill deadlines are required.
-Outstanding multitasking skills.
-AAT/ATT or a law or accounting degree.
-Must be able to work in the UK and willing to relocate or commute to Southampton.

Job Responsibilities:
-To consistently give high-quality VAT consulting and business guidance to your client portfolio.
-Preparing and submitting European VAT returns in a thorough and timely way, while maintaining the greatest level of accuracy.
-Providing advice on their VAT obligations, directing them to the appropriate tax office for payments, proactive reminders of unfiled returns, and making sure that European filings, EC Sales, and Intrastat reporting are in place when or as needed.
-Communicating with the tax authorities about your clients' accounts and liabilities.
-Completing VAT audits and investigations for your client portfolio with tax authorities.
-Account management for clients in collaboration with the Credit Control Department.
-Maintaining constant compliance with VAT law and any changes to VAT laws.
-Building trust, rapport, and a strong relationship with your portfolio through providing excellent customer service.
-Professionally represent the company during events/webinars.
-New team members must be trained, supported, and developed.
-Positively and enthusiastically collaborate with the team.
-Actively communicating with managers and directors to offer improvements to procedures.
