We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer in a beverage marketing firm established in Seattle that provides the most original and unusual marketing services and items available. It's looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to participate in the UK Production and Engineering Development team and help design new products.
Job Requirements:
-Mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, or a related subject is required.
-Engineer with a demonstrated record of successful product development and deployment experience for a max of 4 years.
-Solidworks, Pro-E, or other equivalent CAD software expertise.
-The expertise in material selection and design for particular production processes such as casting, injection moulding, coating, and machining.
-Demonstrated expertise in discussing and/or troubleshooting difficulties with vendors of materials and tools.
-Ability to communicate technical concepts to a varied audience; record processes; organize individual and group engineering training, and offer technical help.
-Willing to work successfully with members of cross-functional teams in sales, engineering, project planning, distribution network, manufacturing, quality, and other areas.
-A good team player who is equally effective in working autonomously or in small groups.
-Fluency in English is required, as is bilingualism in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese).
-Electrical engineering and optics expertise is advantageous.
-Lifting capacity of up to 50 lbs.
-International travel of up to two weeks per year may be necessary on occasion to assist with engineering work.
-A UK driver's license would be advantageous.
Job Responsibilities:
-Collaborate closely with the Design team to develop conceptual representations into fully engineered items that can be tooled, moulded, formed, or cast reliably and affordably.
-Test components and products and generate test results.
-Build prototypes to show how the product works and how it looks.
-Work closely with suppliers to create and approve items, from the first evaluation to tooling and final approval.
-Design and deploy production fixtures for volume manufacturing with the engineering team.
-Collaborate with engineering teams to build new products and enhance existing ones.
-Complete engineering release packages, containing 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly guides, as well as any related paperwork.
-Take part in engineering evaluations and the ECO process; verify drawings into our Arena PLM repository to keep engineering documentation organised and accessible.
-Work on feasibility analysis, technical specification, SOPs, mass production, and other projects with the production design team and suppliers.
-Assess product failure modes and offer potential remedies through product and process enhancements.
-Perform root cause assessment and remedial action after leading a review of quality records.
-Assist the corporate headquarters and the distant production facility with technological issues.
