Job Introduction & Requirements

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Executive role in a Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Storage company based in Middlesex. It is a privately held international freight forwarder that works as a component of a worldwide logistics network of independent agents transporting cargo and offering custom logistics solutions to a broad range of clients in the UK and abroad. The operation executive will manage shipments from beginning to end, providing quotes to clients and overseas offices as well as submitting customs declarations.

Job Requirements:

A-Levels or equivalent qualifications are preferred.

One year of airfreight/sea freight experience is required.

Possess 1-2 years' worth of experience managing customs and shipping procedures abroad in a freight-forwarding setting.

Good organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure are required.

They must be proactive and dynamic in their approach to their work, as well as willing to accept responsibility.

Excellent time management and planning.

Capability to complete all tasks efficiently, competently, and without undue delay.

Job Responsibilities:

Keep up the daily goods workload allotted.

Prepare, handle, and process documentation, such as reference shipments, progress orders, pick-up and delivery arrangements, carrier selection and booking, rate and schedule negotiations, consolidation, and client updates.

Track and trace cargo, and update online web services.

Communicate with carriers, partner agents, and other parties to ensure that information is current and correct.

Arrange pickups and deliveries with haulers, agents, and other parties.

Attend third-party warehouses for cargo labeling/inspection, etc.

Post-departure and Proof of Delivery information should be updated.

Bill clients accurately and on time.

Assist with road goods and other modes of transportation as needed.

Complete Customs Entries with the most recent software available.

As needed, provide cover support for staff vacations.

Responsibilities include handling all correspondence, resolving issues, and making visits as needed to certain customers.

Create and maintain customer SOPs to offer outstanding client service.

Inform agents/customers of shipment status.

Use WeChat, email, phone, instant messaging (including it), and in-person interactions to effectively and empathically interact with customers, partner agents, and suppliers.

Resolve customer complaints and supply shortages.

As needed, provide quotes to existing customers and agents for sea and air shipments.

Manage shipments from beginning to end, providing quotes to clients and foreign offices as well as submitting custom papers.
