We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in a UK-based Entertainment Company. They are looking for an individual who will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations, and contributing to the comprehensive financial management of the organization. Additionally, this role may include supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff.

Job Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.

A master's degree or possession of ACA/ACCA/CIMA designation is preferred. 

Demonstrated experience in accounting or similar financial roles in the UK is essential.

A prerequisite is proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

A robust comprehension of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulations is necessary. 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy are crucial. 

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are vital, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Familiarity with Xero software is advantageous, and proficiency in Mandarin is considered a positive attribute.
 

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and assess financial statements, encompassing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Analyze financial data to discern trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.

Offer insights and recommendations to senior management based on the outcomes of financial analysis.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

Ensure precise recording of financial transactions and journal entries.

Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Contribute to the creation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor budget performance and conduct variance analysis.

Collaborate with department heads to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.

Guarantee compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.

Establish and reinforce internal control procedures to protect financial assets.

Participate in audits and assist in preparing audit documentation.

Accurately prepare and submit VAT returns within specified deadlines.

Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations.

Oversee and optimize cash flow to ensure efficient cash management.

Perform bank statement reconciliations and address any discrepancies.

Offer guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Review the work of junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Contribute to special financial projects, process enhancements, and system implementations as required.
