We have an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper role in a Transportation Logistics and storage company based in Hemel Hempstead. They are in search of an Assistant Bookkeeper who will handle daily accounting responsibilities to bolster the financial team. The role will be under the supervision of the Finance Director. The Assistant Bookkeeper's primary responsibility will be to meticulously document all daily financial transactions, ensuring efficiency and transparency in the process.

Job Requirements:

Demonstrated competence in performing calculations, recording, and overseeing financial records

Proficiency in data entry, particularly with numerical data

Practical familiarity with Excel and online accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero

Exceptional precision and a keen eye for detail

An Associate Degree is desirable

Preference for candidates with at least three years of previous experience

Ability to communicate in Chinese

Job Responsibilities:

Gather, arrange, and enter invoices into the Accounts Payable ledger.

Create initial drafts of customer invoices.

Handle payroll processing.

Ensure reconciliation of bank statements and ledger entries.

Contribute to month-end closure tasks, including the posting of journal entries.

Keep digital financial records up-to-date.

Prepare and file VAT returns.
